There is an ongoing inflow water from the Okavango River to the delta coming all the way to the mighty Thamalakane River. Waters coming from Rundu in Angola where it was flooding. Normally the waters reach Maun in June. Because of this inflows, the it can swell up to almost three times of its normal size.
Finally after a year and 6 months, since the last floods and having travelled 2000km from the Angolan highlands, the first waters of the 2020 Okavango flood reached the Thamalakane River and Maun yesterday.
